Syma X12 Nano Review

This Syma X12 Nano review will help you to know why small quadcopters are fun to fly. The Syma X12 Nano is in the marketplace to prove that not all aerial quadcopters are designed to be large and for outdoor use. Aerial drones such as the Parrot Bebop and 3DR IRIS+ are much bigger than the Syma X12 Nano, and thus command a higher price tag. The Syma X12 Nano is priced at only $25, and can provide years of entertainment for the whole family.

Syma X12 Nano Review

The Syma X12 Nano is one of the smallest quadcopters out there, and it’s also one of the funnest toys we’ve ever tried! Flying it indoors is a real treat, and when all the lights are off, it gets even funner! That’s because it comes equipped with a set of 4 on-board lights that are perfect for illuminating dark areas, and the illumination factor is truly something amazing!

Syma X12 Nano – Incredibly Cheap and Fun

Back in the 80’s and even into the 90’s, radio controlled helicopter technology was EXPENSIVE! So expensive in fact, that parents had to save up for months to give their kids an R/C helicopter or plane for Christmas. That was just the price parents paid back in those days for R/C technology that was actually worth it.

Nowadays, with the introduction of the Syma X12 Nano, the super cheap price tag makes it a surefire winner for parents everywhere. You’ve got to admit, $25 is less than taking the family out to eat, and for that price, you can buy one of these X12 Nano quadcopters and reap the rewards! Your kids will get months, if not years, of entertainment and joy from flying them, and that’s a money saving gift idea that pays for itself, if you can grasp the logic.

Syma X12 Nano Features and Benefits

The Syma X12 Nano is full of awesome features, and includes everything you need to get started flying it right out of the box. Below, we’re going to list and review the features and benefits of what comes in the X12 Nano box.

  • 360 Degree Eversion: Being able to roll 360 degrees in the air is something to behold, and the X12 Nano comes with this operating ability.
  • 6-Axis System: The six axis system is a real gem on the X12 Nano, and allows you to perform a variety of stunts in mid-air, including rolls and flips! Totally fun, but be warned that flips and rolls can take a lot out of the battery. It’s always best to do the flips when the battery is fully charged and fresh.
  • 2.4GHz Radio Control: The 2.4 GHz spectrum allows you a generous flight distance, up to 20 meters indoors, and about 10-15 meters outside. There’s not very much room to fly, but you’ll get in less trouble losing track of it in such a small operating distance.

What’s In The Syma X12 Nano Box:

  • 1 x Syma X12 RC Quad Copter: This is the quadcopter itself. Once you get it out of the box, you’ll see that it’s very small and light. However, the small size packs a load of performance ability that kind of takes you by surprise at first.

    Dimensions: 2.8 x 1.1 x 1.8 inches
    Weight: 14 grams

  • 1 x 2.4G Transmitter (batteries not included, Requires 4xAA): The transmitter looks just like a handheld game controller for a video game system. The design is totally different from the big and bulky transmitter controllers you see with the Parrot Bebop or 3DR IRIS+.
  • 3.7V 100mAh LI-PO (included): The 40 minute charging time of the built-in Li-Po battery provides you with about 5 minutes of sustained flight duration. The only bad part about the battery design/set-up is that you can’t purchase additional batteries for it to extend your flight sessions.
  • 1 x USB Charging Cable: The included USB charging cable makes it easy to simply hook up the Syma X12 Nano and come back to it (in around 40 minutes) when it’s done charging. You can use the USB hookup with any PC out there, and even some smartphones.
  • 4 x Replacement Propeller Blade: The 4 additional replacement propeller blades extend the life of the Syma X12 Nano, so you can get the most for your money. Breaking a prop blade doesn’t happen often under normal use, but you could break the blades by stepping on it, or other accidents.
  • 1 x Screwdriver: The included screwdriver is a perfect fit for any maintenance you need to perform on the Syma X12 Nano. Other screwdrivers are a bit awkward and/or inappropriate for working on a drone this small.
  • 1 x User Manual: Knowing how to operate and maintain your Syma X12 Nano can be done through reading the manual thoroughly. Everything you need to know about operating and maintaining your X12 Nano is in the User Manual.

Final Notes and Recommendation

If cheap toys are your thing, you can’t do better than the X12 Nano for $25. It’s built to last for years of use, and kids really love these. Parents can spend time flying them around too, especially when there’s simply nothing else to do, and you can’t do what you want at the time.

But hey, even then, when you can do what you want at the time, these X12 Nano quadcopters are incredibly entertaining and command some “fun factor” respect.

So yes, 100% this is a quadcopter that’s worth buying, and it has fairly good wind stability too, so it works in outside conditions as well. Just don’t expect to get any further than about 20 meters from your controller. It’s simply a “steal” at $25, and every family should have one (or more) of these Nano X12 Nano drones to play with.

I had one of these given to me as a present it has only lasted 3 days approx 8 charges before a motor burnt out I never tried it outside, I never run motors when it crashes as I have seen the results on the larger syma x5c drones motors and gears.I also got a phantom 3 for outside use
